Sierras of Córdoba
The Sierras de Córdoba, a vast mountain range in the heart of Argentina, are a must-see destination for nature lovers and adventure enthusiasts. Located between the north-western part of the province of Córdoba and the province of San Luis, they are dominated by Champaquí, which rises to an altitude of 2,884 metres above sea level.
Between these spectacular summits, the pampas and salinas create striking contrasts, offering unique panoramas to travellers in search of authenticity.
Hiking through these unspoilt expanses is a great way to discover the region’s natural riches. For a half-day excursion, head for La Cumbre, a charming town with English colonial influences, accessible via a winding road through the Punilla valley. The route offers breathtaking views typical of the Argentinean landscape.
Thrill-seekers will also recognise this region as the scene of world-famous competitions, including a round of the WRC World Rally Championship and a leg of the legendary Dakar Rally.
A perfect blend of discovery, sport and wide open spaces, to be savoured during your stay at Estancia El Colibri Relais & Châteaux.
